N7 - Naas Road Widening & Interchange System (14 Km)

Project Summary:
The project is divided into two briefs. From Naas to the County Boundary (Project No. 1) and from
the County Boundary to Rathcoole (Project No. 2). On Project No. 1 the services to be provided
included the Preliminary Design for Structures, Traffic Management, Specimen Design and Tender
Documents and Client’s Representative on the design and construction stage. Additional tasks
included elements of the EIS and Project Supervisor Design Stage. On Project No. 2 the full service
is included - Preliminary Design, EIS, Statutory Orders, Specimen Design and Tender Documents,
Client’s Representative on the design and construction stage.
The key features of this on-line two to three lane dual carriageway upgrade are: Land available,
road cross section, road alignment and subsequent lands required; Existing services and services
relocation; Traffic management, existing traffic 70,000 AADT; Compliance with noise limitations.
The projects include the following: Two to three lane upgrade; associated roadways; 4 Interchanges;
16 Bridges; 17 Culverts.
This project is a Halcrow Barry Project, the Joint Venture Company between Halcrow Group
Limited and J. B. Barry & Partners.
