N9 / N10 - Carlow Bypass (20 Km)

Services Provided: The scheme is part of the N9/N10 Dublin to Waterford National Primary
Route and will replace a section of the existing single carrageway N9 through the centre of Carlow.
Project Summary:
The contract is a design and build type contract, and Halcrow Barry are undertaking the detailed design on
behalf of the winning tenderer for the 75 million Euro contract.
The contract comprises 20 km of new dual carriageway, as well as grade separated interchanges and
other major structures.
Site staff are also provided to monitor the works, as well as design office support.
Construction commenced in 2007, with completion due in 2008.
This project is a Halcrow Barry Project, the Joint Venture Company between Halcrow Group Limited and J. B. Barry & Partners.
