Project Summary
This project includes the design of a 2km offline upgrade for the Mayne Road from Balgriffin Road to the Coast Road with side road tie-ins and associated works.
The aim of the project is to improve traffic movements in the area, improve road safety, aid economic development of lands along the route corridor and provide pedestrian, cycle and public transport facilities to encourage sustainable development.
The scheme includes a significant traffic study, the design of two traffic signal controlled junctions with dedicated provision for pedestrian crossing and cyclists, an overbridge crossing the main Dublin to Belfast railway line and work adjacent to conservation areas. The scheme also includes a section of bus lane to tie into an existing bus lane.
