
Gorey Courttown Main Drainage

Project Summary:
This is a joint venture project between J.B. Barry and Partners Limited (JBB) and Ryan Hanley
Consulting Engineers (RH). The Preliminary Report (PR) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)
for this project have been completed and approved by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and
Local Government.
JBB/RH were subsequently appointed to carry out the following detailed design and construction
supervision stages of the project.
Advance Works Contract:
Advance Works Contract in 2005/06 of a foul pumping station (capacity 94l/s) and approx 4km of
400mm diameter rising main from Gorey to Courtown to relieve the overloading on the Gorey WWTP and
avail of excess capacity in Courtown.
Contract No. 1:- Expansion to the Courtown WWTW (DBO)
Contract Documents were prepared for a Design Build and Operate Contract to expand the existing
Courtown WWTW from 15,000 PE to 35,000 PE. The Contract is included on the latest WSIP and approval
is expected in 2011.
Contract No. 2: Gorey Network Contract (Employer Design)
The sewer network contract of the Gorey Main Drainage Scheme Stage 2 involved detailed design, preparation of contract documents and drawings to the Employer design format of the New Public Works Contract. Contract No.2 was not included on the latest WSIP and the Contract is currently on hold.
