Project Summary:
J. B. Barry and Partners Limited were appointed for the above scheme and carried out the original Preliminary Report. J. B. Barry and Partners Limited carried out a detailed WWTP site selection process and subsequent EIS. The Scheme was subsequent split into the following contracts:
Contract No.1 – DBO Contract
- Provision of a 70,000 PE WWTW with long sea outfall (2 km at 900mm diameter)
- Provision of 1,500 m3 storm storage capacity and pumping station (Quay Street)
- Provision of 250 l/s foul pump station (Isaacs Bower) and 4 km rising main (600mm)
- Provision of 186 l/s foul pump station (Rush Road) and 3 km rising main (350mm)
J. B. Barry and Partners Limited subsequently carried out an EIS for the expansion of the WWTW to 70,000 PE and the DBO contract was varied to provide for the expansion. UV disinfection was also provided to comply with the revised EIS.
The Phase 1 (30,000 PE) works were complete in August 2007. The Phase 2 expansion to 70,000 PE was complete in September 2008.
Contract Documents have been prepared for a number of traditionally designed contracts for various elements of the Balbriggan and Skerries gravity sewer network. Approval to proceed to tender on these contracts is pending.
Services Provided:
- Preparation of original Prelimianry Report for the scheme
- Preparation of Environmental impact statement for the WWTW, both Phase 1 (30,000 PE) and Phase 2 (70,000 PE)
- Management of Archaeological , Ecological and Site Investigation Contracts
- Assisting Local Authority in site selection, Land Acquisition and Part 8 Procedure for WWTW and Pump stations.
- Completion of Water Services Pricing Policy Reports
- Management of Tender Stage and Completion of Detailed Tender Assessment Report for Client and DEHLG approval.
- Acting as Employers Representative for Construction Stage and provision of Senior Site Supervision Staff
- Acting as Employers Representative for the interim Operation and Maintenance Works including PMS reporting review, certification of payments and LMC meeting management.
- Management of Handover Period and Final Account Agreement
