Since its formation in 1959, J. B. Barry and Partners Limited has been involved in water supply & conservation, flooding & flood risk assessment, main drainage and sewerage schemes in many parts of Ireland and abroad.
The design and construction of these schemes has involved:
- Catchment studies
- Surveys, analysis and design of existing and proposed foul and stormwater collection systems
- Wastewater characteristic surveys
- Assessment of existing wastewater treatment works - process performance studies
- Design of new treatment facilities for municipal and industrial wastewater
- Design of pumping stations and rising mains
- Assessment of inland, estuarine and coastal receiving waters, and the selection of suitable outfall locations
- Design of headworks and marine outfalls
- Analysis and design of existing and proposed water reticulation networks
- Assessment of, and process performance studies of, existing water treatment plants
- Design of new water treatment plants
- Compliance with EU Directives/National Regulations
- Environmental studies - including Water Quality Management Plans and Environmental Impact Statements
- A major strength of the practice is handling the public consultation process
